Ticket Printing Options

InterTicket supports all ticket printing options (thermal printers, laser printers, PDF print-at home tickets), so you are free to choose whichever ticket printing option suits you best.

Each has its own good points but some negatives as well. So let’s look at the options in a little more detail.

Thermal Ticket Printers

  • Most commonly used by large venues
  • Can rapidly print single tickets on demand
  • Tend to be rather expensive to purchase (compared with laser printers)
PROS CONS
Print single tickets on demand More expensive to purchase than other options
High speed printing Requires specialist thermal stock.
Can use thermal stock with inbuilt security features such as thermochromic ink, ultra violet ink, coin activated ink, and holographic foils Cannot print directly on the back of tickets
Some flexibility in ticket size but the standard thermal ticket size is 2" x 5.5" including the stub Only prints in black color

Dymo LabelWriter Printers

  • Small and low cost alternative to specialist thermal printers
  • Requires purchase of custom made stock
  • Relatively high speed printing of single tickets on demand
PROS CONS

Laser /Inkjet Printers

  • Often used by smaller organizations because of lower cost
  • Typically prints 4 tickets per Letter/A4 page on pre-perforated ticket stock
  • Perforated stock readily available from e. g. ThePaperMillstore.com, Printbox, PerforatedPaper.com
PROS CONS
Low purchase price of printer Requires pre-perforated paper stock
Relatively low cost of ticket stock Generally will not have the same security features as thermal ticket stock although it may be possible to locate stock with security features like hidden images that appear when copied, watermarks and invisible ultra violet reactant fibers.
Low cost enables multiple printers to be used in different locations. Prints tickets per transaction so can be wasteful if e.g. only two tickets printed on 4 ticket per page stock
Can print in full color Ticket width and height controlled by paper size

Print-at-Home Tickets

  • Customers purchase tickets online and receive a link to print their PDF tickets
PROS CONS
Tickets are available immediately after purchase. Don’t have the "Souvenir" value of a traditional ticket.
Eliminates time and cost of printing and posting out tickets Buyers may not have the means to print their tickets at home or at work.
Can be used for additional advertising or promotion - sponsor logos, advertising, discount coupons, and upcoming event information. Tickets can be copied – generally unsuitable for GA events not using scanners

What Our Clients Say

Anyway… last night was our first show using the Tickets system, and all-in-all it went stupendously!!! I’m glad we found you. You are very nice to work with.

In the UK, other ticketing software was very expensive - for us the Tickets program is perfect.  The customer service is second to none.
