Season Tickets
Season tickets or subscription packages are increasingly offered by venue operators as a means of encouraging greater attendance to events and pre-selling available tickets. But incorporating this feature in a ticketing system is quite complex, and even more difficult if the option of purchasing season tickets online is required.
The simplest situation is where only one performance of each event is given but there are a number of different events throughout a defined season - for example a community based symphony orchestra may hold four or five different concerts throughout a single year. In this scenario, it is relatively easy to set up a season subscription, providing the subscription applies to all the events that are held throughout the season. It becomes more complicated if a customer can choose for example three out of five events or four out of five events etc. Whilst many ticketing programs may be able to handle this scenario for subscriptions purchased by mail order or by telephone through box office personnel, it is much more complex to offer this for online purchases.
Even more complex is the situation where different programs are performed over a number of different dates - for example a playhouse, where the customer not only has the choice of selecting the play they wish to attend, but also the date they wish to attend within each range of performances. Again this can normally be handled by mail order or by telephone bookings through box office personnel, but difficult to offer for online ticket purchases.
HandyTix offers the ability to set up any number of season subscriptions based on predefined sets of events (date and time) which can include any number of programs. It also offers the ability for customers to purchase such season subscriptions online.
Of particular benefit to organizations who have long-standing arrangements where customers have been allocated specific seats, HandyTix allows you to easily "roll over" subscriptions from one season to the next. The seat numbers for all existing season subscribers are retained/reserved for the new season and the subscriber is given until a specific date to pay for the new season tickets, otherwise the tickets are automatically returned to the system for resale. The system also enables a deposit to be taken and recorded to secure a season subscription.
A ticket printing option permits either a single ticket to be printed which lists all the events in the season or single tickets can be printed for each event.
Detailed financial and transaction reports which separate season subscriptions from single ticket subscriptions can be printed or viewed on demand. |
